Spear huge Cod and Hallibut in Sørøya with guide Eivind Larsen

An Inspiring Sailing and Spear Fishing expedition during prime season

Join us for an unforgettable spearfishing expedition aboard our majestic sailing vessel, the “Moondance,” as we explore the island of Sørøya. Renowned for its remoteness and home to the world’s largest halibut and cod, Sørøya offers a premier spearfishing experience. We have scheduled this trip for the end of August to ensure optimal temperatures, weather, and visibility. This adventure is organized and guided by spearfishing expert Eivind Larsen. Together, we will gracefully glide through straits and fjords, powered by the wind, to experience the world’s most famous spearfishing destination in the Arctic.

This expedition is designed for individuals seeking to elevate their skills in spear fishing and spear their first fish in Norway. Throughout the journey, there is plenty time to refine sailing skills, prepare the fish we catch, engage in activities such as kayaking, hiking, and relaxation. Don’t miss out on this exceptional experience!

Location

Sørøya, the fourth largest island in Norway, is renowned for its breathtaking beauty, stunning landscapes, and unparalleled fishing opportunities. Known as the “Land of the Big Fish,” Sørøya is a top destination for sea fishing enthusiasts, offering some of the best fishing experiences in the country. The island is famous for its incredible spring Skrei Cod fishery, which peaks each year in the spring. Sørøya holds the record for the largest ever rod-and-reel-caught fish, a colossal 104lb Skrei Cod.

However, Sørøya offers much more than just cod fishing. It is a premier year-round fishing destination, with opportunities to catch giant Halibut, massive Coalfish, large Plaice, and deep-water species like Wolffish and Redfish. The island’s cold arctic waters support abundant fish populations, attracting anglers from around the globe. Plan your trip to Sørøya and discover why it is celebrated as one of the world’s best fishing destinations..
